Residents report driveway blockings and landscape damage; council to meet with Waste Management representative

Residents and council members raised two contractor‑related issues during public comment and unfinished business on Jan. 8.
Resident Bernice Raymond said Plantwell company vehicles were "constantly blocking her driveways," once preventing her from entering either driveway; Mayor Russ Nidy asked her to send dates, times, photos and tag numbers to Jared so the Town can identify the vehicles and follow up.
Separately, during unfinished business the council discussed parcel damage caused by Waste Management's clam‑shell truck while picking up vegetation. Council members and residents reported holes and roadway stress cracks; Waste Management's Jeff Sabin (Manager, Public Sector Solutions) offered to meet with the Mayor and Clerk to learn more about the issue and review potential remedies. Mayor Nidy said he will wait a few weeks to see how repair work holds before scheduling the meeting.
Council members suggested interim measures such as adding layers of pebbles atop dirt to limit erosion when vegetation is removed. The council did not take formal enforcement action at the meeting but recorded the complaint and accepted Waste Management's offer of a meeting to review operations and address damages.
