District counsel: opinion on Corkscrew Road ownership unchanged; Village of Estero hires engineering firm

Tony Pires, district counsel, told the River Ridge board on Nov. 19 that after retrieving documents his legal opinion about ownership of Corkscrew Road west of U.S. 41 "has not changed."
Mr. Pires and district engineer Charlie Krebs summarized county and village positions on ownership and maintenance responsibilities based on prior documents and memorandums. The Village of Estero engaged Johnson Engineering to inspect streets and walkways and to determine needed repairs; PSGRC President Neil Collins provided an update on Town Hall discussions focused on the U.S. 41/Corkscrew Road intersection, and Mr. Wilhems confirmed the study will include the west side of Corkscrew Road.
The board recorded these updates for information; no formal action or vote on road ownership occurred during the meeting. Mr. Pires said he will forward contact information for Apple Signs to Mrs. Adams.
