The River Ridge Community Development District accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1) at its Aug. 27 meeting in Estero.
Mrs. Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and the Board discussed outreach to find a replacement. Because the vacancy will be filled by appointment (not election), the Board asked staff to notify residents of the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements and the process for submitting resumes or letters of interest prior to the next meeting.
The Board also noted that required formalities for any appointee—oath of office, ethics training, Form 1 filing, guidance on the Sunshine Amendment, and Form 8B for voting conflicts—will be provided as part of the onboarding package or deferred for inclusion on a future agenda. On motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Supervisor Robert Twombly, the Board voted to accept Mr. Gilman’s resignation.
