Reno City Council unanimously certifies June 2026 primary election results

At a special meeting on June 18, 2026, the Reno City Council voted unanimously to certify the results of the City of Reno primary election, council members said.

The certification motion was made by Council member Doer and was adopted without opposition after City Clerk staff told the council the unofficial results distributed from the Washoe County Registrar of Voters showed no errors. "There were no errors and no discrepancies to be noted," the City Clerk said.

Council members asked whether the results were posted online before the council's sign-off. The City Clerk said the unofficial results are accessible on the Washoe County Registrar of Voters website and that the city will post its official documents after the meeting adjourns and submit them to the Secretary of State. "We will post ours as soon as this meeting adjourns," the City Clerk said, and confirmed the election attachment was available on the council agenda as a draft.

The clerk also clarified a prior statement about correspondence: four letters related to agenda item A3 had been received and were distributed to council members for review.

No members of the public registered comments for the meeting, the City Clerk said, and the council then moved to adjourn. The vote to certify was recorded as unanimous among council members present: Council members Taylor, Doer, Vice Mayor Martinez, Ebert and Anderson voted yes; Mayor Schieve and Council member Reese were absent.

The council adjourned after the certification and routine closing business.
