Commission approves special use and three site plans, postpones several other items
Summary
The commission approved a special use to continue a dirt business and approved three site plans — a Goodwill drop-off, a 72-unit townhome project and a reconstruction plat — while postponing a handful of agenda items to future meetings.
At the meeting the North Little Rock City Planning Commission approved special use SU2026-15 allowing the continued sale of dirt at 12602 Faulkner Lake Road. Applicant Rick Middleton told the commission he wished to “continue my dirt business,” and the commission voted to approve the special use and advised the applicant to coordinate with staff.
The commission also approved three site-plan items recommended by design review:
- SD2026-38, a site plan review for a Goodwill donation drop-off at 4583 Fairway Avenue (design review recommended approval; the applicant noted a zoning variance may be needed for a canopy), - SD2026-39, a preliminary site plan for Donovan Briley Boulevard for a 7.018-acre development of 72 residential townhomes, and - SD2026-41, a preliminary plat and site plan for reconstruction of a building at 1501 Highway 161 (Otis J. Pack Junior Revital Trust) damaged in a winter ice storm; staff reported wastewater coordination had occurred.
Several other agenda items were postponed, including items associated with the Faulkner Crossing rezoning and two later items on the agenda. The commission adjourned after completing the approved votes and the postponements.
