Supervisor says state approved access to housing funds; county eyeing Homekey Plus veteran‑housing application

The supervisor said the timing was imperfect but expected deployment "before the end of July, if not early part of August." The supervisor did not provide a firm deployment date.
The same supervisor said the county is pursuing a veteran housing project through the Homekey Plus program. County staff obtained an appraisal for a potential property, which the supervisor described as "a whole lot less than what I had anticipated," and said negotiations are under way with an internal goal of submitting the Homekey Plus application within about 45 days.
Supervisor Owen and Supervisor Crano were recognized later in the meeting for separate, shorter reports. Supervisor Owen briefly listed personal calendar items; Supervisor Crano recapped a central-region town hall that included a presentation by Cal Water and thanked Director Repadier for attending on short notice.
The supervisor who announced the state approval also said they would be out of the county for the National Association of Counties conference in New Orleans and expected to return late Monday or early Tuesday. The supervisor said they would follow up on precise LG Sonic deployment dates and the status of Homekey Plus negotiations when available.
What happens next: the supervisor said staff will set deployment dates for the LG Sonic system and continue negotiations on the property for the Homekey Plus submission; the supervisor set an internal 45‑day target for filing the application.
