Board advances business program restoration, discusses counseling contract and equipment procurement

Staff discussed a proposed purchase of a 12-foot scores table in the ~$6,000 range. Staff and counsel were cited in the transcript as advising that the district’s purchasing policy sets per-expenditure thresholds (commonly cited between $5,000 and $10,000) and that the purchase could be scheduled for approval next month rather than acted on immediately.
Director (speaker 6) said the Arc Valley counseling contract and the arrangement with a family council agent (Debbie Smith) should be ready for the August meeting and clarified that the contract replaces an Austin position rather than an incumbent named Kathy.
Director (speaker 6) also reported on the Opportunity Coalition partnership and recommended continued participation after consulting with peer districts that found the coalition influential on funding formula discussions.
