Blanchester board adopts FY25 appropriations totaling $22.78 million, approves grants and transfer

The Blanchester Board of Education on Oct. 21 approved the district's FY25 permanent appropriations and accepted two Vallee grant awards while approving a small transfer between federal program accounts.
At the board meeting in the Blanchester Middle School auxiliary cafeteria, Treasurer Alleyn Unversaw presented financial reports and the FY25 permanent appropriations appendix, which list a grand total of $22,781,773.92 in appropriations and a General Fund appropriation of $18,798,205.31. The board voted to approve the Treasurer's business items (motion: Mike Williams; second: Chris Baker); all members present voted in favor.
The board also approved a transfer of $3,182.98 from 590-9024 (Title II-A FY24) to 572-9024 (Title I-A FY24), a transfer identified by the treasurer as allowable under the district's federal program transferability rules. The Five Year Forecast will be submitted to the board for approval in November.
Separately, the board accepted Vallee Grant awards that Treasurer Unversaw described as targeted to facility and student needs: $61,000 to replace weight-room equipment at the high school and $25,000 to support student needs and field trips.
