City Manager Moore told the council the city has been notified that it has been selected for a $500,000 Brownfields grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Moore said there are several pre-award documents the city must complete and return this week and that no council action is required at this time; staff will bring a formal acceptance item to council later. The manager also noted other operational items—NCDOT paving near the splash pad and an alternative entry plan while paving occurs—and thanked staff for their work on the recent Lake Hunt master-plan meeting.
City staff will continue pre-award processing and return to council with the grant acceptance and any required implementation steps.
