The City of Woodland Hills commission met on March 25, 2025, and took a series of routine administrative actions, including approving minutes, financial reports and warrants and authorizing a withdrawal from the municipal order for the Kentucky telecommunications tax.
City Clerk Lisa Baldwin presented the February minutes; Commissioner Hedden moved to approve with one correction, Commissioner Horan seconded and the motion carried. Treasurer Jones presented the February financial report; Commissioner De Villier moved to approve, Commissioner Gillenwater seconded and the motion carried. Treasurer Jones also presented warrants; Commissioner Horan moved to approve and Commissioner Gillenwater seconded; motion carried.
Mayor Killeen told the commission that the UFIR (Uniform Fiscal Information Report) is due on May 1, 2025. Treasurer Jones reported that a few property tax payments have been received and that eight accounts remain unpaid as of the meeting.
On a separate motion, Commissioner Hedden moved that the city withdraw from the municipal order for the Kentucky telecommunications tax effective March 1, 2025; Commissioner Horan seconded and the motion carried. The minutes record the commission's authorization of the withdrawal but do not include a roll-call tally.
Mayor Killeen presented first readings of three ordinances: Ordinance #2 (Tree Ordinance), Ordinance #3 (Tax Ordinance) — with a proposal to keep the tax rate at the current level — and Ordinance #4 (Budget Ordinance). Killeen noted the city’s refuse contract runs through June 30, 2025, and said he had contacted EcoTech about future refuse rates; he also said he would have professionals review the proposed tree ordinance prior to its second reading.
The meeting record shows one returned petition related to a merger effort; Mayor Killeen stated that petitions had been distributed and that one petition had been received.
The meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m.; the next regular commission meeting is scheduled for April 22, 2025.
