The Windy Hills City Council approved the minutes from Jan. 13 and accepted the January 2025 financial reports and bills at its Feb. 10 regular meeting in Sojourn Community Church East.
Councilwoman Kate Greer moved to approve the minutes and later the financial reports; Councilman Paul Morris seconded both motions. Council members also approved January bills totaling $113,436.91. The motions carried with no discussion.
Mayor Dr. John Roberts reported the city’s ARPA account balance is $9,060.89, earmarked for expansion of the parking pad on the Green and to be expended no later than April 2025. He said the Road Fund balance is $52,918.48 and will be held for summer paving discussions. The mayor also said snow and ice removal this winter has totaled $69,250 to date compared with $40,000 budgeted for the year.
In new business, Clerk/Treasurer Christine Haner read a summary of a Jan. 31 meeting with a First Financial Bank branch manager about opening a business credit card. Haner said the card would be issued to the City as a government entity and that bank processes require formal council authorization. The council voted to instruct city staff to apply for a business credit card with a $10,000 maximum credit limit. The application will include three years of audited financial statements; the proposed signers are Mayor Dr. John Roberts, Councilwoman Helen Davis (mayor pro tem), and Christine Haner.
Councilwoman Kate Greer moved to direct the city to apply for the card; Councilwoman Julie Theiler seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The meeting concluded with no additional council action on financial matters and adjourned at 7:34 P.M.
