The Village of Kimberly Board unanimously approved two certified survey maps and the site-and-architecture review for a new dance studio at 103/109 W Kimberly Avenue during a special meeting on May 27, 2025.
Trustee Norb Karner moved to approve an Extraterritorial Certified Survey Map for W3110 Creekview Lane in the Town of Buchanan; Trustee Marcia Trentlage seconded the motion and the board carried it by unanimous vote. Trustee Lee Hammen then moved to approve an updated one-lot Certified Survey Map for 103-109 W Kimberly Avenue; Trustee Trentlage seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board also approved the site plan and architectural components for Footworks Dance Company by Kim, LLC at 103/109 W Kimberly Ave. Trustee Marcia Trentlage moved the approval and Trustee Lee Hammen seconded. The board approved the plan contingent on three conditions: that additional landscaping or planter boxes be provided in the green areas along the street side of the building; that grading of the site be verified to ensure no negative impacts to surrounding residential development; and that the refuse area be installed near the southwest corner of the building and screened from off-site view. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
The approvals permit the lot configurations and advance the process for the proposed new construction at the W. Kimberly Avenue site. The conditions attached to the site-and-architecture approval are intended to mitigate visual and drainage impacts on the adjacent residential area and to ensure adequate screening for refuse storage.
Clerk-Treasurer Jennifer Weyenberg prepared the meeting information and the board recorded unanimous votes on the presented items. No public objections or formal appeals were recorded in the meeting minutes for the approvals.
