Greenfield Master Plan moves forward with field lights, bathrooms and planned courts

Botetourt County Parks and Recreation Director Victor Morales told the commission May 4 that work on the Greenfield Master Plan is advancing: funding for planned elements is now available, installation of field lighting at two soccer fields is underway and construction of park restrooms is progressing.
Morales said the department will issue requests for proposals for construction of tennis and pickleball courts soon, with a goal of completing courts in spring 2027. He added that the community center component of the master plan remains under discussion in the county budget process and funding for that element is likely to be available in the next fiscal year. Morales said he met with county administration to review the project plan and timeline and expects to present an updated draft of the master plan at the commission’s next meeting.
