The Area Plan Commission voted unanimously June 17 to recommend approval of RESOLUTION 2026-06, a conformity finding that would allow the county redevelopment commission to establish the Tippecanoe Northwest Economic Development Area as a Tax Increment Finance (TIF) district.
APC staff member Ryan O’Gara said the TIF plan is intended to facilitate infrastructure and capital improvements that support non-residential development and broaden the tax base. Staff concluded the Comprehensive Plan supports the envisioned non-residential development and recommended approval. Jackson Bogan called for a yellow-ballot vote; staff recorded 13 yes, 0 no.
No members of the public spoke on the item during the hearing. The APC forwarded the recommendation; the item will proceed through the county review process.
