Newburgh sets demolition bid schedule for Meadow Hill tank, approves budget transfer and recreation center change order

The Town Board of the Town of Newburgh on Aug. 25 approved several engineering and capital actions, including a budget transfer, contract and bid scheduling for a tank demolition and a construction change order.
Town Engineer Patrick J. Hines requested and the board approved a budget transfer of $15,000, moving funds from account 4001.5497 (Maintenance Contracts/Leases/Rentals) to account 4001.5499 (Telemetering/Water Filtration). The board approved the transfer by motion with a 4–0 vote and one member absent.
Hines also described the Meadow Hill water storage tank — a 300,000‑gallon tank the town says has been out of service for many years — and said H2M Engineers completed design and specifications for demolition and removal. The board approved setting the bid schedule: invitation to bid available Sept. 4, 2025; bids due and to be opened Sept. 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
Separately, the board approved a Stormwater Maintenance Agreement for Gardner Ridge Associates LLC as presented.
On the Newburgh Recreation Center project, Hines said Change Order #3 covers additional charges for A‑John restroom trailers and related sales tax omitted from prior billing; the change order totals $25,108.64 to carry restroom services through the end of September. The board voted to authorize the change order 4–0 with one absence.
All engineering motions passed unanimously among the four members present; the items will proceed to bid and contract processing as scheduled.
