Lancaster public-safety update: ambulances arriving, cruiser to be bid and staffing moves underway

Police Chief Jon Woodworth reported call statistics and cruiser mileage, said that Cruiser 1 has been stripped of equipment and decals and will be put out to bid, and that the department is outfitting a new cruiser and progressing work on the K9 program. Woodworth added the department posted an open position and had received three applications as of the meeting; advertising for the cruiser bid will include Town & City Magazine, the newspaper and the town website.
The board did not take formal personnel or procurement votes during this update; the actions described are operational and involve expected fleet turnover and hiring processes.
