Town Manager Jessica Cyr presented a draft Facilities Use Application to the Lancaster Select Board at a March 3 work session and said she had taken an online Primex workshop to learn requirements for private and commercial use of town facilities.
Select Board member Kathy-Jean Lavoie asked how Cyr developed the fee schedule; Lavoie said the town’s fees "have not been consistent," and the board discussed reviewing the existing schedule. Cyr said the schedule she presented is the existing schedule and recommended it be reviewed and updated.
Cyr told the board she would meet with users of the building to discuss how facility rentals should proceed going forward. When Lavoie asked whether any pre-existing agreements existed with the Masons, Cyr said there was "nothing that she has found" while noting the Masons are working with the town on repairs and that the town is "trying to be good partners."
The board provided recommended edits to the Facilities Use Policy and discussed the fee schedule, but no formal decisions or votes were recorded at the meeting. Cyr said she will update the draft and bring it back for the board to consider at a future meeting.
