Pinckneyville council tables alleyway vacation until visibility easement is signed

Mayor Spencer introduced Ordinance No. O-2026-08 proposing the vacation of a city alleyway within Pinckneyville. City Attorney Don Bigham told the council the ordinance must be tabled because the required visibility easement from Pinckneyville Treats, Inc., has not yet been signed by the private party; the city has already signed the easement. Under the agreement the city will have 60 days after the private party signs to adopt an ordinance to vacate the alleyway.
No roll-call vote to adopt the vacation ordinance was taken at the June 22 meeting; the matter remains tabled pending the signed easement.
