District staff updated the Hope-Page Public School District 85 Finance Committee on building maintenance priorities and inspection results during the March 6 meeting.
Heidi Kingston and Mike Kingston reviewed previously discussed summer projects: installing fans at door entrances to reduce moisture, pursuing stage lighting upgrades (Brent Jacobson has contacted vendor HB Light and Sound), evaluating whether to build a shelter for the outdoor freezer near the kitchen, and arranging gym bleacher repairs (Mrs. Kingston plans to contact the original installer this summer).
Ian Grande reported that roof repairs are needed at the high school, with active leaks on the north side of the building. The district said it will address roof work as part of its maintenance planning.
On the gym floor, Steins completed an inspection and the district received bids from FLR Sanders and Steins. The administrative team indicated it will return to the committee with a formal recommendation and any required action if the bids necessitate committee approval.
No formal contracts or construction approvals were made at this meeting; the committee’s role was to receive updates and set priorities for further planning and bidding.
