Board unanimously approves superintendent's summative evaluation, sets 2025 growth-focus standards
Summary
After a closed-session review under KRS 61.810(1), the Washington County Board of Education approved Superintendent Dr. Robin Filiatreau Cochran's summative evaluation (5-0) and asked for an individual professional growth plan focused on standards 2 (instructional), 5 (managerial) and 6 (external development).
The Washington County Board of Education met in executive session on Nov. 18 under KRS 61.810(1) to conduct the superintendent's evaluation. The board voted 5-0 to enter executive session (Bd. #24-082), voted 5-0 to exit (Bd. #24-083), and then approved the superintendent's evaluation (Bd. #24-084) by a 5-0 vote.
Using the Superintendent Professional Growth Evaluation System (SPGES), the board reported Dr. Robin Filiatreau Cochran exceeded expectations on the seven evaluation standards. The board and superintendent identified standards 2 (Instructional Leadership), 5 (Managerial Leadership) and 6 (External Development Leadership) as priority areas for an individual professional growth plan for 2025. The plan will address curriculum alignment, achievement-gap identification and strategies, assessment alignment, support for building and district leadership, and staff recruitment and retention.
The minutes record that Dr. Cochran provided evidence detailing performance in accomplishing expectations for students and staff and that the board will develop an individual professional growth plan to guide work in 2025. The meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
