Board accepts Rural Schools Collaborative grant, approves WCHS Phase III owner/architect agreement and construction closeouts

The Washington County Board of Education on Nov. 18 approved a package of consent items (Bd. #24-081) by a 5-0 vote. The consolidated consent motion, moved by Carissa Harley and seconded by Ray Canterberry, included approval of minutes, payment of bills, budget amendments, and acceptance of several donations to district schools.
Among the operational approvals, the board authorized change orders and a BG-4 to close out the bus garage project, approved change orders for Washington County High School Athletic Phase II, and approved an owner/architect agreement for WCHS Phase III schematics. The superintendent said she had visited Garrard County to view architect work and cited that visit as part of the facilities planning process.
The board also approved permission for Washington County Schools to apply for the KDE KYCL grant, accepted the Rural Schools Collaborative Grant and Fellowship, approved a student-teacher agreement with Campbellsville University, and approved an Option 9 agreement with the University of the Cumberlands. Several policy and handbook items were approved, including a Volunteer and Mentor Handbook and a technology acceptable-use addendum for dual-credit students.
Board members did not record separate roll-call votes for individual consent items beyond the consolidated 5-0 approval of Bd. #24-081.
