Washington County Board of Education approves consent agenda, personnel hires and contracts

The Washington County Board of Education voted 5-0 on Feb. 17 to approve a consent agenda that included minutes, payment of bills, budget amendments, donations, vendor contracts and personnel appointments.
The motion (Bd. #25-016) was made by board member Carissa Harley and seconded by Ray Canterberry. The board approved donations to Washington County High School and Washington County Elementary School from a range of donors including the KY FFA Foundation, St. Rose Church, Michter’s Distillery and local individuals, and consented to multiple leave affidavits and rescinded unpaid-day requests as presented.
The board cleared trip requests for WCHS extracurricular groups, including a Commanderette softball trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., April 6–10, 2025, and a WCHS senior-class trip to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge April 27–29, 2025. Leaders also approved a renewal memorandum of agreement with Saint Dominic Elementary School for middle-school football and softball/baseball programs with no changes.
Contracts approved or authorized under the consent agenda included a ProCare Therapy contract and an AOPA Foundation High School Aviation STEM curriculum license. The board also approved a one-year Vector Solutions contract for mandatory staff training at a cost of $3,833.
The board was notified of numerous personnel actions across certified, classified, coaches and extra-services positions, including new hires for teaching, substitutes, coaches and childcare staff, and several resignations. The district named Patrick & Associates to conduct the FY25 audit at a fee of $12,500.
