The board discussed scheduling details including adding a half day on Sept. 3 (to mirror a half day before Labor Day observed in an earlier draft) and ensuring staff have adequate time for professional development and end-of-year wrap-up. A motion to approve the 2026–27 calendar and to accept option 1 for 2027–28 pending the Sept. 3 half day carried 6–0.
Board members noted that further minor changes could be made after approval and that approvals would allow families and staff to begin planning. The board directed staff to add the Sept. 3 half day and to return any final calendar edits at the next meeting, if needed.
