Staff introduced Resolution 26-16, seeking permission to advertise and hold a public hearing on abandoning a 1,200-foot portion of Morris Callaway Road.
"There's a 1,200 foot section of Morris Callaway Road ... Currently, this road ... does not have any residents that live off of it," the staff member said, explaining the county would advertise the proposed abandonment and hear public comment at the next committee meeting before the full board takes any final action. The staff member added that Kinetic Infrastructure Solutions owns the property surrounding the segment and that abandonment would make that property contiguous if the company buys the road.
Committee members confirmed the process โ advertise, public hearing, then board action โ and the chair moved the resolution to the consent agenda. The transcript records the item being placed on consent; final disposition will be recorded when the board acts following the public hearing.
