Blanchester board approves personnel hires, substitute list and supplemental contracts

The Blanchester Board of Education on March 17 approved a slate of personnel actions recommended by the superintendent, including certified hires, substitute approvals and supplemental contracts for the 2024'2025 and 2025'2026 school years.
Superintendent Randy Dunlap presented personnel recommendations that included approval of a 4th-grade teacher contract for Jessica Leugers (middle school), extended contract days for Tonya Gehringer, and the addition of substitute teachers Dorothy "Anne" Cook, Stephanie Jewett and Ethan Saunders (temporary license). The board also approved numerous supplemental contracts and hourly assignments for programs such as Kindergarten Countdown, Ready, Set, Let's Glow events, Science of Reading professional development stipends, and COW Night staffing. Classified staffing approvals included hiring Lisa Rohrich (3-hour cook) and Patricia Hinton (2-hour cook) and approval of dock days for Donna Braley and Lisa Begley.
Why it matters: Approved staff and supplemental positions support classroom instruction, early-childhood transition programming and extracurricular activities. The supplemental stipends and hourly assignments indicate district priorities for professional development and event staffing in spring and summer programs.
