Chair moves committee into executive session and votes to keep minutes confidential

The ad hoc collective bargaining committee met Tuesday, July 14. The Chair opened the meeting at 12:26 p.m., said a quorum was present and moved to approve ‘‘26-1954, the Adcock collective bargaining minutes’’ from the April 28, 2026 regular meeting; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The committee received no public comment. After brief procedural items, the Chair proposed moving into executive session. A member moved the motion to enter executive session and Member Galassi seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote.
For the record, a staff member said the committee was entering executive session “pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2) collective negotiating matters and 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21) review of executive session minutes.” Following that statutory citation, the committee took a roll call to establish quorum for the executive session, later announced it was out of executive session, and completed a post-session roll call to re-establish quorum.
Back in open session, the Chair moved that the executive-session minutes be kept confidential; the committee approved that motion by voice vote. The meeting concluded without further substantive business and the Chair adjourned the session "without objection."
