The Blanchester Board of Education approved a series of consent items and routine financial actions on Jan. 7, 2025, including the purchase of a new 83-passenger bus for the 2025-26 school year at the state bid price through the Educational Purchasing Cooperative (EPC) and the execution of a multi-year contract for treasurer services.
Under "Business of the Board," members approved recommended policy updates (BDC, JEDA, IGAE, IC/ICA, DM), a FY25 service agreement with the Montgomery County Educational Service Center for educational assessment services, and acceptance of multiple small donations to school funds (including a $50 donation from Clinton County Retired Teachers to the high-school choir and a $500 donation from Varsity Calendar to the athletic fund). The board also approved a contract with 4U School Solutions to provide school treasurer services from Aug. 1, 2025, through July 31, 2029, naming Alleyn Unversaw as the acting treasurer under that agreement.
The board reviewed financial reports from the treasurer and approved two intra-fund transfers requested by the treasurer—Title IV-A to Title I for $2,054.41 and Title II-A to Title I for $4,272.67. Chris Baker moved to approve the transfers; Kathy Gephart seconded. The motions passed on unanimous votes of the five members present.
Agenda items also included approval of the 2025 board meeting schedule and first readings of several policies to be considered for action in February. There were no public comments on non-agenda items. The meeting concluded with the board adjourning at 7:38 p.m.
