Board member Marty Schurr moved to approve the consent agenda, which included minutes from the June 8, 2026 meeting and claims across funds. Sheri Hartley seconded the motion; the board recorded Yea 6, No 0. The consent agenda enclosed General Fund checks #7965–#8005, activity and lunch fund checks, petty cash, and payroll; the grand total for checks and payroll was $318,168.28.
Principal Mr. McCain reported final enrollment numbers for the Summer Reading Camp, said state reporting was completed in June, and noted planning is under way for August in-service days and fall sports summer camps. Superintendent Mr. Bejot updated the board on summer work projects, the district ALICAP safety day, attendance by MPS administrators at the MHC co-op meeting in Hayes Center, and changes made to district bank accounts following Henderson Bank’s change of ownership; a staff overtime report was also presented.
On the business docket, the board unanimously approved a set of district policies and documents for 2026–27: Policy 5045 (Student fees), Policy 5018 (Parental Involvement reaffirmation), a resolution approving staff training for the 2026–27 school year, a cell phone and electronic devices policy, membership in NRCSA for 2026–27, policy revisions recommended by the policy committee, the Student/Parent Handbook, Staff Handbook, Student Activities Handbook, Classified Staff Handbook, and a revised teacher evaluation document. Each motion passed on recorded unanimous votes (Yea 6, No 0); movers and seconders are recorded in the meeting minutes.
There were no public comments recorded under the community input item. The board adjourned at 8:01 p.m. on a motion by Sheri Hartley, seconded by Marty Schurr, and set its next regular meeting for Aug. 10, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school library.
