City Clerk/Administrator Jake Dickson told the council on June 22 that the liquor store’s part-time starting wage of $14.73 had not been attracting candidates and that many local businesses pay above $15 per hour. Dickson said the liquor fund could likely support up to a $2 per hour raise.
The council voted unanimously to raise the liquor store starting wage to $16 per hour. Member Bob Klug moved to increase the wage and Member Amanda Ninneman seconded; the motion passed 5-0.
Dickson also recommended hiring Pamela Haas as a liquor store clerk. Member Dave Fitzpatrick moved to approve the hire, Member Amanda Ninneman seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. The council did not record additional details such as start date or schedule in the meeting minutes.
