Tamworth Select Board approves permits, raffle permits and $511,523.40 accounts payable; timber yield tax levies authorized

At its March 24 meeting the Tamworth Select Board approved a package of routine and financial items, authorized two timber-yield tax levies and approved a new Parks & Recreation logo.
Motions included Roberts’ motion (seconded by Steven Schaeffer) to approve the Select Board minutes dated Feb. 24, 2026; a driveway permit for Map 206 Lot 18-4; a Gravel Tax Levy and an Intent to Excavate for Map 210 Lot 3; a raffle permit for the Friends of the Cook Memorial Library; and a raffle & event permit for the Arts Council of Tamworth. The board also approved an accounts payable warrant in the amount of $511,523.40; the roll-call on these items was unanimous (Doucette yes, Schaeffer yes, Prentice yes, Roberts yes).
The board approved Timber Yield Tax Levies for Map 405 Lot 21 ($1,434.50) and Map 413 Lot 32 ($2,133.23). Lianne Prentice noted a recent state-law change affecting raffle regulations and advised the public about selling tickets at short events.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved a Parks & Recreation logo (motion by Richard Doucette, seconded by Steven Schaeffer). The Veterans Committee charter expansion was discussed: Kerryn Hullstrung sought authority to expand the committee's scope beyond ceremonies, and Prentice recommended coordinating with the Tamworth Chamber/Association (TCNA) and meeting the NH Veterans Coalition; no vote on a charter change was recorded.
Town Administrator Emily Nolan reported the town account balance is $4,014,735 and that the 2025 audit is underway. The board entered nonpublic session at 7:00 p.m. under RSA 91-A:3, II (c) and returned at 7:22 p.m.; the minutes of the nonpublic session were not sealed. The meeting adjourned at 7:23 p.m.
