Tamworth appoints four to Conservation Commission and accepts O’Bryan/Aprille conservation easement

The Select Board voted unanimously to appoint Kit Morgan, Charlie Townsend, Linda Madeiros and Lucy Gatchall to the Conservation Commission and accepted the previously adopted O’Bryan/Aprille Conservation Easement; the commission will pursue a Forest Management Plan review for a town parcel on Hollow Hill/Cleveland Hill.
At its March 24 meeting the Tamworth Select Board appointed four people to the Conservation Commission and approved acceptance of a previously adopted conservation easement.
Ned Beecher, speaking for the Conservation Commission, reviewed members who are continuing service and recommended appointments. Lianne Prentice moved to appoint Kit Morgan, Charlie Townsend, Linda Madeiros and Lucy Gatchall; Steven Schaeffer seconded and the board approved the appointments by roll-call vote (Doucette yes, Schaeffer yes, Prentice yes, Roberts yes).
Prentice then moved to accept the previously adopted O'Bryan/Aprille Conservation Easement; Schaeffer seconded and the board approved the acceptance by unanimous roll-call vote. Beecher also outlined a Forest Management Plan for a small town-owned parcel on Hollow Hill/Cleveland Hill and said he and Town Administrator Emily Nolan will meet with Tim Nolin to review grading and timber-related questions.
The approvals mean the commission will move forward with its membership roster and review of the management plan; no financial details or implementation dates for the easement were discussed during the meeting.
