Woodford County school board approves travel requests; Title I funding confirmed

"The funding source are Title I funds," the committee member said, adding it would be useful to know the remaining balance before approving the requests.
Superintendent Dr. Jones responded that Northside planned to use leftover Title I funds and that Simmons Elementary would still have about $120,000 remaining in its allocation if the requests were approved. "They would have a 120,000 left in their allocation just for their school," Dr. Jones said.
After that exchange the chair called for a vote. The motion—recorded by the chair as "Motion by Mister Wilson" with a second noted in the record—passed unanimously, 5–0.
The approval was a single-line action on the special-meeting agenda; board members said they expected to continue working through other items at the regular meeting and invited the public to review posted agenda materials online.
