District staff (mister Asher, speaker 15) and the superintendent agreed changes could be added and presented in January; they characterized the item as aligning advanced opportunities "for all" rather than replacing the district’s detailed GT procedures. The chair then moved contingent approval: "So to me, it almost be a 3rd reading if you had to bring it forth again," a trustee said, and members accepted a contingency to add requested language.
Vote: The motion to approve the second reading contingent on added language passed 4–1 (one board member said she would vote nay until she saw the final wording).
