Sutton and other officers described using the channel during medical and fire incidents and said it improved coordination at the football stadium and community events. The district’s SROs can also be logged into the system for special details so dispatch knows which school or event is requesting assistance.
Board members asked whether there is a written charter or agreement that clarifies incident command among SROs, the Versailles Police Department and other agencies for larger incidents; officials said a multi‑agency protocol is in progress and trainings have been aligned so partners know roles in major incidents.
Board members also asked for an update on exterior numbering of windows and doors at the new high school; staff said internal numbering has been started and a timeline for external markings will be provided to the board.
The board thanked law enforcement and staff for prioritizing student safety and requested follow‑up timelines for the written protocol and any outstanding installations.
