The Town of North East on June 10 approved a two‑year water allocation extension for North East Commerce Center II for 60 Equivalent Residential Units (ERU), while tabling two other allocation requests for further review.
Commissioner Neil DeMatt moved to approve the Commerce Center II extension, Vice‑Mayor Kimberly Davis seconded the motion, and the Board approved it unanimously. The approved extension was described as a two‑year extension beginning June 30, 2026 and expiring June 30, 2028.
The Board also tabled a larger allocation request from North East Developers, LLC for the Chesapeake Club, listed as 498 ERU, to allow additional discussion on whether the development would be annexed into town limits and to resolve outstanding allocation details. Town Administrator Mellisa Cook‑MacKenzie requested tabling the Chesapeake Club item until the June 24 meeting.
A separate water allocation extension request for Mr. Eustace Mita (12 ERU) was likewise tabled until June 24. No vote was taken on the Mita or Chesapeake Club items on June 10.
The Board recorded motions and votes for the Commerce Center II extension and noted follow‑up will occur at the June 24 meeting for the other requests.
