Commissioners approve election-equipment MOU, special event permit and Perdue bankruptcy plan; county forwards lawsuit paperwork

The Richland County Board of Commissioners approved several administrative items on Sept. 16, voting unanimously to authorize a Memorandum of Understanding with the Secretary of State's Office for election equipment and to grant a Special Event Permit for Antelope Creek Bar & Grill.
On a separate motion, the board approved the proposed Perdue bankruptcy plan tied to opioid litigation. The motion to accept the proposed plan was moved and seconded and recorded as a unanimous vote.
Auditor/Administrator Sandy Fossum said she received paperwork naming Richland County as a defendant in a lawsuit brought against the City of Wahpeton and that she forwarded the documents to the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund and the State's Attorney's Office for handling.
Commissioners also recorded routine correspondence (a thank-you letter from Rose Dotzenrod) and were reminded of upcoming meetings including Park Board, Board of Health and future commission meeting dates.
