Richland County approves up to $15,000 to reimburse demolition of Fairmount property

Scott Meyer addressed the commission, saying he and his group purchased the property at auction and want to remove the structure and redevelop the lot. He asked the board to assist with demolition costs so the group can continue cleaning up dilapidated properties in Fairmount.
Commissioner Nathan Berseth moved to approve reimbursement of up to $15,000 for demolition and clean-up of the Fairmount property; Commissioner Perry Miller seconded the motion. The board voted unanimously to approve the expenditure.
The decision was recorded as part of routine business at the Nov. 18 meeting. The board also handled other administrative items later in the session and adjourned at 8:35 a.m.
