Superintendent John R. Giacchi provided the board with an update on a regionalization study at the Jan. 12 meeting and explained how a shared‑service agreement currently operates.
Board discussion touched on possible shared services pilots, a shared nurse arrangement and transportation logistics. Mrs. Rachel Kabbash said she does not want to regionalize, citing curriculum disparities between Franklin Borough and sending districts and concerns about transportation (noting that Wallkill has buses and questioning whether students would be transported). Mr. Bartron noted the existing shared nurse arrangement; Ms. Henry raised questions about exterior lighting and building use timing during the new‑business portion of the agenda.
The minutes record the exchange as discussion only; no motion to pursue formal regionalization or changes to sending/receiving arrangements was recorded at the meeting.
