On the recommendation of Superintendent John R. Giacchi, the board accepted the resignations of full‑time custodian Earl Hornyak (last day Dec. 2, 2025) and part‑time paraprofessional Denise Tirado (last day Dec. 15, 2025). The board appointed Emma Finamore and Jennah Leka as .71 FTE part‑time paraprofessionals, each at $19.62 per hour plus a $2.00 per‑hour differential for higher‑level care, pending required paperwork. The board also approved substitute teacher appointments (Polina Acurol, Maureen Garvey, Milenko Popovic) at $150 per day and a substitute paraprofessional (Heatherann Shenton) at $110 per day.
The board approved a short‑term long‑term substitute appointment for Shakeel Danwatta Liyanage to cover a one‑FTE assignment from Dec. 15 through on or about Dec. 23, 2025, at $170 per day. The board approved a degree placement change for Erin Garrity to MA +30, Step 9, effective Feb. 1, 2026, with the new annual salary listed at $71,770.
The board amended extra‑curricular stipend payments for the 2025–26 school play so that three advisors—Erin Garrity, Alexandria Lefkovits and Stephanie Sapio—will split the previously approved stipends. The minutes record the approved annual stipend amounts and the advisors’ request, with Franklin Education Association consent, that the stipend be split equally between the three advisors.
The Personnel Committee, chaired by Stephanie Perna, brought the resolutions to the full board; motions were made and approved by roll call where required. The board also approved a new job description for a Behaviorist and approved previously tabled professional development items.
