Stamping Ground advances budget readings, authorizes short-term transfer and approves vendor waiver for Farmers Market

At its June 24 meeting the Stamping Ground City Commission completed first readings of two ordinances amending the 2024–25 budget and establishing the 2025–26 budget, and set a special meeting for the ordinances’ second reading.
The commission approved a motion allowing the city to transfer up to $16,500 from savings to pay a PE invoice and other immediate needs; the motion (moved by Commissioner Perry and seconded by Mayor Jones) passed 4–0. The minutes record that the commission agreed to proceed with paying a PE insurance invoice.
The commission also approved payment of a KPPA invoice by motion (4–0) and accepted an attorney-drafted liability waiver for anyone setting up at the Farmers Market; the waiver was approved by motion (4–0). The record shows the commission discussed whether business license applications should be approved by commission before the clerk issues licenses and noted business licenses are due July 1.
