Stamping Ground discusses Rumpke solid-waste cost and plans $30.50 per-home rate effective Aug. 1

Public Works Commissioner Ken Koger reported the Rumpke solid-waste contract will require an adjusted per-home charge of $30.50, effective Aug. 1, 2025. The commission instructed Attorney Joe Hoffman to draft an ordinance to enact the change. Commissioner Dale Perry said payments to Rumpke will be made from the parks account going forward because the service is administered under Public Works.
No vote to adopt the ordinance was recorded at the June 24 meeting; the minutes show the commission directed staff and counsel to prepare the ordinance for future consideration. The change in billing and the new effective date were presented as necessary to cover operating costs.
The minutes do not list the current per-home charge or estimate how many households will be affected; those numbers were not specified during the discussion. Attorney Hoffman or staff are expected to return with the draft ordinance and any fiscal notes for formal action at a later meeting.
