The statement asks members to attend and actively participate, approach issues from a system‑wide perspective while representing their agencies, share information when appropriate, support evidence‑based strategies, and accept shared responsibility for advancing CJCC goals.
"As members of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, we commit to attend and actively participate in meetings and work groups, approach issues from a system wide perspective while respectfully representing our agencies and stakeholders," Attorney Stern read.
Supervisor Plagg moved to add the bullet‑format member commitment statement to the bylaws; the motion was seconded and the chair clarified that a two‑thirds vote was required to amend the bylaws. The motion passed with two abstentions; Attorney Stern said he will amend the bylaws and distribute a copy to members.
Members had earlier reviewed a longer questionnaire and agreed the responses did not show a strong impetus for immediate, broad bylaw changes; several members said the council can revisit bylaws later if membership or circumstances change.
