The Maiden Rock Town Board voted Monday to hire the Mississippi River Regional Planning Commission to assist with updating the town's comprehensive plan at a cost of $10,500. Carl Nelson introduced MRRPC staff Ken Harwood and Jon Bingol, who presented the contract and reviewed the scope and cost.
The contract, described during the presentation as a $10,500 engagement, drew discussion about the update process and timeline. Supervisor John Danneker moved to accept the contract; Chairman Jerry F. Duden seconded the motion and the board approved. The signed contract will be mailed to MRRPC.
Clerk/Treasurer Carla R Schuster told the board the town hall needs cleaning and that a budget hearing would be scheduled; the board set the budget hearing for Nov. 10, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., with the regular board meeting to follow.
Mary Anne Wise, speaking during the meeting, thanked the board for choosing MRRPC to assist the Planning Commission. The board did not record further fiscal details or a contract schedule during the meeting.
