Maiden Rock board approves routine minutes, treasurer's report, assessor contract and two liquor licenses; returns $475.83 in unused ARPA funds

During its May 12 meeting, the Town of Maiden Rock board completed routine financial and administrative business. Supervisor John Danneker moved and Supervisor Allen White seconded approval of the April 2025 minutes and the April treasurer’s report; both motions carried with all members voting in favor.
Clerk/Treasurer Carla R. Schuster reported that the ARPA report was completed with assistance from Pierce Pepin Swift Current staff and that $475.83 was not used and must be returned to the state. Schuster also said Open Book has been completed and that the Board of Review scheduled for May 13 had no requests to meet.
The board approved liquor license renewals for Maiden Rock American Legion and Maidenwood Events for the July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026 term following a motion by Danneker and second by White. The board also approved a $100 donation to MRACA for the Party in the Park 2025.
For municipal administration, the board approved an assessor contract for Bob Irwin for 2025–2027 at $6,000 total, payable at $500 per month, following a motion by Danneker and second by White. The minutes record that the board will follow up on a draft Resolution regarding Authority Bonds for business loans with attorney Bob Loberg at next month’s meeting.
Time cards were reviewed with no concerns. The board also approved changing the June meeting date to June 16, 2025 because of an upcoming surgery.
