The Maiden Rock town board discussed road maintenance and equipment needs at its Jan. 12 meeting, including damage and repair needs to township trucks and an approved state/local LRIP allocation to help pay for Pine Creek Hill work.
Chairman Jerry F. Duden reported that a county employee covering township work, Brent Greg, rolled a county truck during a recent storm; Greg sustained bruising but there were no hazardous-material issues. The township also noted both its Tandem (221) and Peterbilt (222) trucks require repairs, and the board said it is seeking options, including exploring replacement vehicles.
The board recorded that the township has been approved for Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP) funds totaling approximately $46,000, which will be applied toward Pine Creek Hill costs. The minutes list the $46,000 as an approximate figure; no contract or project schedule was provided at the meeting.
Separately, the board reviewed a zoning-permit-related invoice: Robert Loberg's office quoted $2,573.75 to process the discontinuation of 440th Street. Landowner Dylan Holes had paid $2,000 toward the cost and agreed to pay the remaining balance when he comes in to settle property taxes.
A proposed resolution about authority bonds for business loans was brought up but tabled until the next meeting. No votes were taken on equipment purchases or the authority-bonds resolution during the session.
Next steps: The board will continue to evaluate truck repair or replacement options and apply LRIP funds to Pine Creek Hill as approved; the authority-bonds resolution will return to a future agenda.
