Lincoln district wins $1,013,000 Montana REEDS grant to run through 2029

A staff member described the grant as competitive and said the award period began June 1; the first short grant year runs June 1–Sept. 30 and subsequent grant years run August 1–Sept. 30 under the REEDS schedule. The staff member said the award was divided with roughly 15% for elementary programming, 40% for middle and 40% for high school, with 5% reserved for OPI for grant management.
Trustees congratulated the staff team that prepared the application and thanked key individuals for their work. The board noted they are still awaiting a tentative budget meeting with OPI to finalize internal allocations.
Next steps: staff will finalize the budget with OPI and present budget details to the board for approval; staffing and programmatic allocations were described as “locked with staffing” pending the OPI budget meeting.
