The Maple Heights City School District Board voted on and approved a series of resolutions on July 13 authorizing employer "pickup" plans for required retirement contributions for multiple employee groups.
The resolutions — recorded in the meeting as Nos. 26‑48 through at least 26‑56 — covered certified bargaining-unit employees; certified nonexempt and teaching employees; administrators, building principals and central-office certified administrators (for STRS/OH purposes); the superintendent; the treasurer; classified exempt employees; classified bargaining-unit employees; classified administrators; the assistant treasurer; and executive secretaries. Board members moved, seconded and approved each resolution on roll-call votes with unanimous "yes" responses recorded.
The meeting record shows each resolution was presented briefly, moved, seconded and approved without extended debate. The board did not discuss changes to the structure of the pickup plans in the public session.
Each approved resolution will affect how employer pickup contributions are processed for payroll and will be implemented through the district's human-resources and payroll offices.
