Lumpkin continues City Manager search; police report two vehicles received

The Lumpkin City Council on March 10 agreed to continue advertising for the City Manager position, directing staff to post the vacancy on the GLGA and GMA websites and in the Stewart Webster Journal.
Councilwoman B. Mallory said the advertising should continue; no formal hiring action was taken.
During department reports, Police Chief M. Holloway told the council the department has received two Dodge Challengers donated or transferred from Coweta County. He also asked council members to RSVP for a Law Enforcement Appreciation Day at W.C. Bradley on March 30, 2026. Public Works Supervisor M. Robinson reported successful fluoride testing and that crews repaired sewage pipes on Patterson Drive. Clerk Anne Holloway said certified letters have been sent regarding rundown properties.
Council members briefly raised other items: an Ebenezer program event was announced for the coming Saturday and the mayor asked whether the county might help tear down a Cotton Street building whose siding had been torn off. The council adjourned by unanimous motion.
