North Bay trustees amend Planning Commission minutes, approve payables and election inspectors; discuss generator work and beach access

The Village of North Bay Board of Trustees handled several procedural and operational items at its Nov. 24 meeting.
Minutes amendment and approvals: Constable Rocco Castellano requested and the Board approved an amendment to the Nov. 3, 2025 Planning Commission minutes clarifying that President Roger Mellem, not Castellano, solicited Clerk Dori Panthofer’s opinion. Castellano moved to amend and approve the Nov. 3, 2025 Planning Commission minutes and to approve the Oct. 27, 2025 Board of Trustees minutes and the Nov. 3, 2025 Stand Up meeting minutes; Trustee Rick Cermak seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Accounts payable and elections: The Board approved the amended November 2025 accounts payable in the amount of $44,741.81 and authorized Treasurer Robert E. O’Brien and Clerk Panthofer to pay routine bills due by Dec. 31, 2025. The Board also approved the proposed 2026–2027 election inspectors and noted upcoming election dates: primary (if needed) Feb. 17, 2026, and the Spring Election on April 7, 2026.
Generator, public safety and beach access: Trustee Rick Cermak reported a site visit with Scott Sandkuhler of Premier Power; the village will be temporarily without its generator during installation but will have a portable generator available, and Premier Power will file the electrical permit required by WE Energies with the Clerk after consulting Inspector Greivell. Constable Castellano relayed that a November traffic stop at 3 Mile and North Main resulted in a search and a "significant drug bust" reported by Wind Point Police Department and urged vigilance at the beach. On GZA’s bluff/beach assessment, the Board decided the stairs should be pulled from the GZA scope because replacement could trigger ADA compliance; GZA was asked to schedule a site visit at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, and Clerk Panthofer will post notice.
Records destruction: The Board discussed state records-retention guidance and the need for a local ordinance to authorize destruction of obsolete, moldy vault records; Clerk Panthofer will consult County Clerk Christensen.
