At the end of the July 9 meeting, township staff reported that a final draft of the Peters Township comprehensive plan is complete and will be released in the coming weeks, triggering a 45-day public comment period that will involve the planning commission. Staff said the goal is to adopt the plan in September and asked whether commissioners would be available for an additional review meeting because the regular August meeting may be crowded.
Staff said a public open house held recently drew roughly 110–120 attendees and that many of the comments — including requests to retain larger lot minimums and concerns about traffic — were already reflected in the draft. The staff speaker said the most recent final draft would likely be released around July 20 and promised to distribute copies to commissioners prior to the next review meeting.
Commissioners indicated tentative availability for an Aug. 27 meeting to review the draft and staff said it would circulate printed copies and an electronic notice to confirm schedules.
